Koreans think of it this way: if people go shopping to buy beautiful clothes, style their hair to look neat, visit the gym or pool to get in shape - why not have surgery or a cosmetic procedure to look the way you like? Firstly, the Korean educational system has the highest level of competition in the world. To get into medical school, you need to be in the top 1% of graduates who scored the highest on final exams. Furthermore, when it comes time to choose a specialization, only the top 10% of students can continue their education in the department of plastic surgery.

Secondly, Korean plastic surgeons have specializations (mammoplasty, facelift, or liposuction) and a large number of patients to practice similar surgeries every day and perfect their execution. After 20 years of practice, having 2-3 surgeries a day and working 6 days a week, a surgeon becomes a genius professional and one of the best specialists in the world.

The cost of treatment in Korea is much lower than in the USA, Western Europe, and sometimes even Russia. But if you want to have surgery at the lowest possible cost, we recommend you wait and increase your budget to use the services of a professional. Correcting the results of a failed surgery is much more expensive, and the outcomes can be worse than if you had the procedure done only once, as you'll have to redo tests and go through the rehabilitation period again.

If a clinic offers you rhinoplasty for $2,000 instead of $4,000 or a full facelift for $5,000 instead of $9,000 - $12,000 - this should make you think more carefully about your appearance and health. An experienced and highly qualified surgeon working with a staff anesthesiologist will never sell their services so cheaply.

In Seoul's Gangnam district, there are over 500 plastic surgery clinics. All the best surgeons in Korea work here. We prefer to work with small clinics (private practices) of plastic surgeons for the following reasons:

• Surgeons can spend much more time with you during consultations and thoroughly answer all questions about the surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• They have fewer surgeries. Surgeons in large clinics may have 4-5 surgeries a day, performed alone or with other surgeons, while private practice surgeons have only 1 or 2. They are more rested, don't rush to give way to another doctor, and work more meticulously.
• Clinics provide a guarantee on the results for 1 year after the surgery. In a large clinic with many surgeons, in case of a need for a repeat procedure, the responsibility lies not with them, but with the management and lawyers of the company, which can affect the quality of the operation. It happens that on the dates of postoperative therapy, your surgeon is off, and management sends another doctor who does not have detailed information about your situation. Also, a surgeon may quit and move to another city or even country, making it impossible to have a repeat surgery or receive additional procedures.

In small clinics, you are insured against this: the surgeon always bears responsibility for themselves, their work, and their reputation, surgeries are performed more qualitatively, and postoperative care is controlled only by the operating surgeon.

• Large clinics operate like factories - there is no individual approach to patients.
• Surgeries are not always performed by the surgeons who were at your consultation and mentioned in the contract - they can be carried out by interns or less busy colleagues.
• Doctors in large clinics are overworked - we have seen situations where they performed 9-10 breast augmentations a day. Even the best surgeon can get tired and make a mistake or perform the work carelessly, and this entails risks we want to protect our clients from.
• In large clinics, consultations can take 3-5 minutes. Surgeons are too busy, pushed by coordinators and managers, so they cannot fully devote time to each client.
